

Happy Father’s Day to all the fellow dads out there! I’ve been a dad for nearly 16 years now. It’s not always easy, it’s not always appreciated, but we make a huge difference. The younger generations have no idea what we have done to make everything possible for them, but hopefully someday they’ll see it.

Since we are constantly bombarded by presidential rankings that are never objective and are entirely partisan, I decided it was time for me to tackle this task once and for all. I’ve read enough history to have the ability to do this (and will research any knowledge gaps along the way), and I can be reasonably objective in the manner in which I grade their individual effectiveness and performances.
To grade each president I will consider the following criteria (scores graded from 1-5 with 5 the highest):





We’re building a solar-powered ferris wheel for Evan’s Inquiry Fair. Unfortunately we aren’t generating enough power with the solar panel so it might just be a battery-powered wheel.
I don’t want to jinx 2022. Maybe I can say good luck to everyone on the coming new year.
Keep your ambitions high. Help when asked or when it seems needed. Compete only against yourself or those that bring out the best in you in a positive way. Offer good words of encouragement and advice, and do your best. Put in the legwork to give yourself the best chance to succeed. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Take some chances. Listen critically and research things on your own. Try to eject the word ‘no’ from your responses as often as you can. Don’t wall yourself off to people or ideas. Reach out now and then.
Time to Retire the Left-Right Political Spectrum
For two centuries (or at least since the French Revolution) political systems have been artificially placed on a linear Left-Right political measuring stick. On the Left side of this political line are what are generally considered ‘liberal’ forms of government, and on the right are what is considered ‘conservative’ forms of government. Political parties such as the American Democratic and Republic parties are placed on this spectrum, as are forms of government (communist, socialist, theocracies, etc), and even media publications.
