Chief Standing Bear

I decided to make another painting based on a vintage 1800s photograph, in this case the important chief of the Ponca tribe, Standing Bear. I believe the photo was dated to around the 1880s.

I made a few creative decisions but largely attempted to remain faithful to the photo and depicted authentic clothing worn by plains Indians at the time, including the symbols.
