The Tetons are arguably the most beautiful mountains in the country and I would agree. We’ve visited the park three times between 2010 and 2019 and each time enjoyed the mountain vistas, beautiful Jackson and Jenny Lakes, and the abundant wildlife.
We’ve rented a boat to explore Jackson Lakes coves and saw bald eagles and hiked the Cascade Canyon trail far enough to find a moose cow and calf. We’ve fished at Colter Bay and stared down a black bear on the Jenny Lake trail. Grand Teton is one of my favorite parks for good reason.
When I went to paint Grand Teton I felt I had to encompass both the iconic range as well as the wildlife that is so prevalent in the park. With that in mind I painted the Tetons with a bald eagle and mother moose and calf.
